Where to go Camping

Information provided by Washita Lodge of the Order of the Arrow

[ Council Camps Home | Council Home ]

One of the greatest purposes of the Order of the Arrow is to promote troop camping. To help fulfill this purpose, the Lodge’s Corresponding Secretary created this Where to Go Camping booklet. The Lodge hopes that the booklet will be instrumental in expanding every troop’s camping program by providing information on Council camps, national camps, state parks, canoe trails, hiking trails and many other features.

Sam DeFrees, the 2001-2002 Corresponding Secretary of the Order of the Arrow, Washita Lodge #288, compiled and edited this booklet. The Corresponding Secretary was under the Chieftainship of Bob Sullivan.  Jim Lewis was the Lodge Lay Advisor.  Sam and Steve DeFrees have updated and revised this booklet from the original 2002 copy.
