When

First Weekend: September 19, 20, 21, 2008

Second Weekend: October 3, 4, 5, 2008

The course is a full 6 days. Participants are strongly urged to arrive at Camp McClintock on Thursday night, as Friday begins by 8:00 am. We will conclude each weekend on Sunday, around 6:00 pm. Due to the nature of the course, each weekend must be attended in its entirety. You should be aware that it is not possible to 'make up' any part of the course. Participants need to make arrangements to attend every session during both weekends to be certified as having completed the training portion of the course. In addition, your patrol may choose to schedule one or more patrol meeting(s) at your convenience.

Detailed registration information will be mailed and emailed to you once your application is received. Historically, employers have been very generous in allowing employees to take the necessary time off to complete this course.

Cost

The cost of Wood Badge is $195.00 if paid in full before May 30, 2008.the fee will be $220.00 if paid after May 30, 2008. The fiee covers your food, camping fees, excess coverage insurance, program materials, course hat, course t-shirt and administrative costs. We ask for a $50 deposit with your application and the balance to be paid no later than August 15, 2008. The deposit is transferable and may be applied to other participants. Fees are not refundable after August 15, 2008. Unlike other programs, your fee does not pay the staff's way. Staff members pay for their own food, materials, and insurance. We have tried to make this as affordable as possible.

For this cost you will receive all of your meals prepared for you during the first weekend and enough food for you and your patrol to prepare excellent meals in the outdoors during the second weekend plus enough notes and handouts on a variety of topics to fill a notebook. Included is the Wood Badge recognition when you complete your ticket.

Many units will pay all or part of your registration fee. Talk with your unit and see if they can help send you to Wood Badge. There are also limited scholarships available, awarded on financial need, up to 50% of the course fee. Do not let the cost of the course keep you from coming to Wood Badge. Contact our Course Director, Jerry Wells, with your financial situation. All requests are confidential.
